Why do limousine companies require credit card information for reservation?

The reason why limousine companies require a credit card information upon booking is because it guarantees the card holder’s credibility to pay for the service as well as any cancellation charges or penalty fees based on the given terms and conditions. There has been a lot of incidents before when credit cards were not required and Limo companies have no way of charging back clients who either have misinformation on their personal data on file or non-residents of the city.

Upon placing your reservation, most limousine companies charge your card before the actual booking while some makes two transactions; 1st transaction is for those who requires a deposit and 2nd would be to for the remaining balance of the total amount of service. In order to cater more people, few companies such as AM PM Limo would let their clients settle the total amount through cash as long as there is a credit card information on hand. You’ll have to confirm this to your limo provider or whenever you’re scouting so that you’ll know when to expect your billing and know your options.

In some cases, people will borrow the credit card information of their friends or family members and pay them back in cash. You must consider the terms and conditions of the Limo company before borrowing or letting someone use your credit card. Even when you are careful or compliant, you will still be held accountable for any amount of penalty caused by your party during your ride. Even a clean up fee could be quite expensive and can go as high as $500! Limo vendors also have their own cancellation policies and grace period. You might be surprised that the booking your friend has already canceled will still reflect on your bank statement.

Most of the time, multiple drop-offs causes overtime charges. There has been a lot of cases wherein the card owner has been dropped off earlier than the other passengers and was still charged for an overtime fee due to his/her friends that extended the hour to take them back home. It is very hard for limo companies and their drivers to get a consent for the overtime especially if the last drop off was done at 3 in the morning and the driver does not know the customer who booked the ride.

Also, we do not require a deposit fee unless the booking is for Weddings or Graduations. The only time you’ll need to pay the service beforehand is if you are booking our service 24 hours before the actual pick-up.
